The LaserCon LDP Converter is an adaptor card for the replacement of your broken laserdisc player, to a newer, faster, more reliable one.
Install it in your Dragon’s Lair, Space Ace or Thayer's Quest arcade machine.
It's a common problem. The original Laserdisc players used in these game machines were run 24 hours a day for years. The moving parts simply wore out. Now when you try to play your favorite game, you find that the video skips, stutters, or just doesn't play at all. That 25 year old laserdisc player is dead! So, you go looking for a replacement PR-7820 or LD-V1000 on the internet and can't find one. To make matters worse, there are no direct replacement players either. That's because the original players used a parallel interface and all modern players use a serial interface.
That's where LaserCon comes in. The LDP Converter receives the incoming parallel command codes and translates them to the serial commands used by modern Pioneer laserdisc players (see list below). The result is a much better game experience. The pauses between game scenes and death sequences are greatly reduced, providing a more fluid game play.
Kit includes: LaserCon LDP Converter, All required interface cables, mounting hardware and instructions.

Notes:
The V8000 and V4x00 series are recommended due to their improved search speed performance. The 2000 series is slower.
When using a NTSC disc in a European Space Ace, A NTSC to PAL video conversion device is also required but not included in the LaserCon kit.
The M.A.C.H.3 circuit boards are notoriously unreliable. LaserCon will work with a well maintained M.A.C.H.3 machine. However, I can't guarantee you a working machine simply with the installation of a LaserCon LDP converter.
