Replacement ROM for Newer Players
Replace U33 on your TQ main board and you can use the newer/better LD-V8000/4000/2000 series players.
The LDP Converter: No Longer needed. Use the replacement ROM above.
The "Original" LaserCon LDP conversion card can be used to upgrade Thayer's Quest to a modern laserdisc player.
Your TQ game board must be set to operate a LD-V1000 player: Switches B4 and B5 must both be off.
Your replacement player can be run at either 4800 or 9600 baud rate...
If running at 4800, set LaserCon switches 1-4: OFF OFF ON ON
If running at 9600, set LaserCon switches 1-4: OFF ON OFF ON

The Best replacement Laserdisc players for Thayer's Quest are the a Pioneer LD-V8000, LD-V4400, LD-V4300D and LD-V4200.
Other players that work are the Pioneer CLD-2600, CLD-2400 and LD-V2200.
